Summit Healthcare Marks Fifteenth Year of Giving with the Heart of MUSE Foundation
Summit Healthcare Supports the 2019 Heart of MUSE Recipient: The Ehlers-Danlos Society
Braintree, Mass., July 17, 2019 – For the past fifteen years, the International MUSE Conference gives individuals and organizations in the MEDITECH space a chance to network with their peers, attend thought leadership sessions, check out the newest products and services offered, and view interactive demos and presentations. It is one of the largest MEDITECH user conferences in the country. While at the show, attendees also have the chance to give back to the community by supporting a charity or foundation selected by the MUSE organization through an initiative known as the “Heart of MUSE”.
Summit Healthcare has co-sponsored this initiative since its inception, and this year is honored to be celebrating their 15th year as a sponsor of the Heart of MUSE. At this year’s 2019 MUSE International Conference, the local charity selected as the Heart of MUSE was The Ehlers-Danlos Society, a global community of patients, caregivers, health care professionals, and supporters, dedicated to saving and improving the lives of those affected by the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, hypermobility spectrum disorders, and associated symptoms and conditions. Their goals are worldwide awareness — and a better quality of life for all who suffer from these conditions. Research is at the center of what they do, so that one day we will have a cure.
“We are so grateful to the Heart of MUSE and Summit Healthcare for choosing to support The Ehlers-Danlos Society,” said Lara Bloom, International Executive Director of the Ehlers-Danlos Society. “This donation will have a real impact on helping us to deliver our mission and improving the lives of those impacted by Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders.”
During the MUSE conference, all participants were given the opportunity to donate to the organization by purchasing a $5 pin. Summit Healthcare agreed to match the proceeds from all the pins sold throughout the conference, and 100 percent of the funding went directly to the charity of choice. This year $5,000 was raised.
“Since Summit Healthcare began attending the MUSE conference, we immediately wanted to get further involved in the conference and their incredible efforts to give back to the local communities,” said Ted Rossi, CEO, Summit Healthcare. “It’s been amazingly rewarding to have the opportunity to co-sponsor the Heart of MUSE for the past fifteen years, and support all of these wonderful organizations like the Ehlers-Danlos Society.”
On the last day of the conference Summit Healthcare matches all the donations from attendees (up to $2500), and presents the organization with a check at the Heart of MUSE announcement ceremony.
